Menus of Minis - Beets & Brie

In the world of home entertaining, there are a million different options of where to begin planning an event. Between the table decor, floral, who to invite and how on earth you're going to find time in your busy schedule to scrub your floor boards - a creative menu often gets overlooked. Yes, veggie platters, hummus and the always comfortable trio of italian meat slices can be an easy appetizer go to in a pinch. But hey! Live a little! Fight the fear of unknown ingredients and a lack of presentation practice. Take that extra step to impress your guests, and be prepared to revel in the glow of your accomplishment.

This week we're looking at two specialty ingredients, beets & brie. Pardon my love of alliteration, and get ready to spice up your bite sized party food!

Color Studies: No. 1

When designing your event, from a small scale dinner parties to birthday celebrations, holiday gatherings to weddings, it can be a bit overwhelming to settle on any one idea (thank you, pinterest). Do yourself a favor and start small. The most simple way to begin an event plan is to select a few colors to base the look of the event on. You can then build in textures, shades, smells, sounds and tastes, based on that carefully selected base color palette.

Each week, we'll discover a new potential color palette to inspire the start of your next bash.

Party on.
