When it comes to choosing your suite of wedding jewelry, there are a number of factors that are important to consider. I say consider on purpose, as fashion rules are meant to be broken! But here are a few guidelines to stick to when selecting your perfect pair of wedding day earrings.

Chandeliers: the dramatic pair for brides looking for a bit more interest. Perfect for those with an backswept hairstyle or a strapless dress. With the statement earring, it's usually a good idea to nix the necklace, leaving your chest as a simple, clean break before your gorgeous gown.

Teardrops: the universal pair. Perfect for half up, half down hairstyles, waves, a classic chignon or modern ponytail. They can be worn with pretty much any dress, with straps or no straps, a high collarbone or next lace design, even a scoop neck with longer sleeves. They can be paired with a dainty necklace or statement piece.

Studs: the simple pair for the fuss free bride. Do you have a large statement necklace, or a lot going on with the rest of your look? Stick to simple studs to avoid taking away from the rest of your ornamentation. A slight sparkle from your ear is all you need.

Thirsty Thursday: Jalapeño Infused Greyhound Spritzer

Feeling like adding a little kick to your summer cocktail? The Jalapeño infused Greyhound Spritzer is the perfect refreshing drink to enjoy while kicked back in a lounge chair, swinging on a hammock, or enjoying a late Sunday brunch with friends. Ahh summer, you are the greatest.

Jalapeño Simple Syrup

  • equal parts sugar and water (any amount, depending on how much you'd like to make)
  • fresh jalapeño strips, a few seeds added in for kick

Instructions

  1. Combine the sugar, water and jalapeño strips in a saucepan. Warm over medium-low heat, stirring, until sugar dissolves completely. The longer it simmers on low, the more intense the flavor will become.
  2. Remove from heat and let cool completely. Pour into a glass jar, and store in the refrigerator.

Greyhound

  • 2 oz. of your favorite vodka
  • 4 oz. fresh squeezed grapefruit juice
  • 2 oz. grapefruit flavored Perrier
  • 1/2 tbl. simple syrup (more or less, to taste)

Instructions

  1. Add the ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake to combine.
  2. Pour in your favorite lowball glassware. Add chilled grapefruit perrier. Top with skinny slice of jalapeño for garnish.
  3. Enjoy!
